Modern Baseball Analytics

A Baseball Savant wrapper for box scores, standings, team and player stats, and analytics tools for Major League Baseball.

The Story

Modern Baseball Analytics is a wrapper over Baseball Savant and the MLB Stats data. It pulls scores, standings, and stats into one place so the numbers are easy to read and easy to build on.

The site exists to develop tools in this space — a place to try ideas, surface the data that matters, and turn it into something useful for following the game.

This project was inspired by the book The Theory of Modern Baseball by Kanemoto.

About the Creator

Hi, I'm Carlos Blocks, the founder of ArbBets. I'm a data engineer with a passion for baseball and analytics. I built this site to share my research, and give something back to the fans and analysts who made me fall in love with the game. Every tool here started as a question I wanted to answer myself.

This site is where I work those questions out in public. It's a research lab, a portfolio, and a blog. My goal is simple: build tools and research that help fans, players, scouts, and the wider baseball community better understand the modern game.
